OBITUARY Ollie E. Bates Sr. August 18, 1922 – February 5, 2019 Ollie E. Bates Sr. born in Rome, Georgia on 8/18/1922, and went to be with the Lord in Tampa, Florida on 2/5/2019. Mr. Bates Sr. was a devoted Baptist faith gentleman who proudly served in the Civilian Conservation Corp & World War II as a dedicated hero for the United States Army in the 1940’s. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, blue grass music, and game shows.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Sybil Lambert Bates, his second wife Carolyn Turner Bates, one daughter Elizabeth Waller, one granddaughter Theresa Williamson & one great-granddaughter Brittney Williams. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters; Barbara (John) Sendoya & Martha Williams, one son Ollie E. (Barb) Bates Jr., one son-in-law Greg Waller, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren & 12 great-great-grandchildren. Ollie E. Bates Sr. was a joy to all who knew him and he will be forever loved & remembered by his beloved family.
