Opal Bernice Bowers Graves, 101, of Randleman, died Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Bill Harwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Country Holiness Cemetery, Worthville Road, Randleman. Born on March 20, 1918, in Forsyth County, NC, Mrs. Graves was the daughter of the late Otis Neal Bowers, Sr. and Vesta Henderson Bowers. She was a homemaker and seamstress.

Mrs. Graves was a long time member of the Church of God Seventh Day. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning vegetables. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her husband Harold Graves, daughter Jane Graves Martin, and granddaughter Deanna Jane Arnold.

Surviving are her daughter Barbara “Bobbie” Graves Mills of Randleman; brother O.N. Bowers, Jr. (Christine) of Randleman; grandchildren, Deborah Lynn Lamb (Robbie) of Randleman, Rodney Wood (Virginia) of Hayesville, Joseph Arnold of Asheboro, Laurie Prince (Mike) of Archdale, Lisa Jackson (Sean) of Fuquay Varina, Marc Mills (Kelly) of Randleman, Susan Blevins (Darrin) of Randleman; step grandchildren, Donna Cox (Wayne) of Willow Springs, Marty Mills of Garner; eleven great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
