Obituary for Oreste J. Liberatore Jr. Oreste J. “Joe” Liberatore, Jr., age 89 of Southport was born December 4, 1928 & passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Bath VA Medical Center. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Liberatore and former wife, Mary Lowman Liberatore; father, Oreste J. Liberatore, Sr.; mother, Mary Vegard Liberatore; brother, Nicholas Liberatore; and daughter, Susan Liberatore Johnson. Joe is survived by his siblings, Chuck (Eileen) Liberatore and Giovina DeGraw; children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-granchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joe was a US Marine Corp veteran serving during WWII: Parris Island, SC, Great Lakes, Norfolk, VA and Balboa, Panama. Joe was a roofer and sider in his early years. After 21 years Joe retired from Laborers Local #785.

He was also an Elmira School crossing guard for 25 years. Joe was a weightlifter and body builder over the years as well. As per Joe’s wishes there will not be any services.
