Obituary for Pamela Jo Griffiths Pamela Jo Griffiths was born in Wichata, Kansas. The family moved to Bellevue, Washington where she grew up, moving to Cashmere 32 years ago when she met her husband Kelly Griffiths, they were married at the Shumway Mansion in Kirkland, WA. Pam attended the University of Washington, Bellevue College, where she received her RN, and Seattle Pacific University where she achieved her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and her Masters Degree in Hospital Administration.
She worked at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and over 30 years at Central Washington Hospital in the operating room and as the Director of Nursing Services for Surgery, Recovery and Central Services. One of her best memories there was the development and set up of the heart surgery room. Pam’s favorite place was their home and orchard on Tigner Road in Cashmere, where she and Kelly raised two boys Shane and Joe.
She helped in the orchard, decorated the house, cooked holiday dinners. Being a big sports fanatic, she never missed one of the boys’ games. They traveled across the state for tournaments and one special trip to Puerto Rico to watch Shane in the Robert Clemente All Stars international baseball exchange.
Pam had an artistic side. Her passion was music. In high school she was cast in several musicals, once as the lead in Hello Dolly.
After graduating she performed in local clubs singing popular songs of the day, and often sang the national anthem at special events and athletic events. She also won an audition locally and landed an invitation to participate in a Patsy Kline Contest in Nashville. Her love of music was shared with Joe from the time he was born.
Pam enjoyed watching him perform in school and later at open mics while achieving his College degrees. Pam also loved sports. Swimming, water skiing, and snow skiing personally.
She was a fervent fan of the sports Shane and Joe played attending all games and, of course, the Seahawks, Sonics, and the UW Huskies. Pam is survived by her husband of 31 years Kelly Griffiths, sons Shane Griffiths (Emily) and Joe Griffiths (Zoe); grandsons Sawyer and Pierce; sister Patti; and host of relatives and friends she treasured as her extended family. The family would like to thank Dr. Mitch Garrison, Dr. Toby Long, Maggie and all of the Infusion Room Angels.
Thank you all for her excellent medical care and friendship during her four-year journey. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 15th, 1:00pm at Sage Hills Church in Wenatchee. Burial will be in Cashmere.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society. Previous Events Memorial Service , SEP 15.
