A homegoing celebration for Pastor May Nell Smith of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 will be held Saturday, July 21st, 2:00 p.m. at New Progressive M.B. Church, 3307 E. Shadowlawn Ave, Pastor James Richardson of True Love M.B. Church, officiating. The interment will be Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. May Nell Smith was born on September 21, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Willie Lewis and Rossie Mae Jackson.

May enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and spreading the word of God. She also enjoyed feeding the neighborhood and enjoyed going to dinner at Golden Corral Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Lewis and sister, Gladys Walker.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her children, Carolyn Bright (Mike), Benjamin Smith, Charles Bethel (Tanya), Howard Bethel (Gail), Danny Bethel (Carolyn) and Mary Ann Allen, grandchildren, Calvin, Christopher and Christina Cole, Marlon Hannah, Geroldme Bethel, Trekia Williams, Charles Saffore, Brandon Bethel, Brandon Gongora, Stacey Robinson, Marquita Bethel, Ashley Flowers, Patricia Allen, Breanna Bryant, Chaz Bethel, Terell, Shacoyia and Ta’ Rhonda Saffore, Lawanda, Laverance and Melody Harris, Shanta and Everette Pace; sisters, Adell Gainer (Leo) and Eva Mae McClendon; nieces, Tonya Mitchell and Deon McClendon; nephews, Leo, Jasin and Darrol Gainer and Maurice McCallister; cousin, Ruth Collins; god-children, Sue and Jawana; special friends, Ms. Dot, Elaine and Mary; and a host of great-greatgrandchildren and other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
