Pastor Willie L. Drone, Sr. was born October 21, 1946 to the late Johnnie and Sylvia Drone in Hensley, Arkansas. Willie was transitioned to Heaven on May 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Silas and Isaiah, three sisters, Maggie, Izetta, and Nancy and one great-grandchild, Denim.

Willie moved to Kansas City at the age of twelve. He attended Lincoln Middle and High School. He was employed by Mid-West Terminal Warehouse.

He retired after thirty plus years of service. At the age of seventeen years old, he married Jacqueline Marie Hill Drone. Through this union there are four children: Jacqueline, Kimberly, Latonya and Willie, Jr (Leisha).

She preceded him in death July 11, 1980. Willie married Jacqueline Arene Harris Drone on December 20, 1980. Three children were born to this union, Phyllis (Rodney), Kenetra (Derrick) and Sylvia.

She preceded him in death February 19, 2003. In July 6, 2003, he married Dorothy Jean London Drone. Through this union there are four sons: Gregory, Rodney, Reginald and Mark.

Willie was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost on December 6, 1966 at Bethel Pentecostal Church, 1600 New Jersey, Kansas City, Kansas under the leadership of Pastor Rosie L. Summers. He was called to preach the gospel in 1968. From 1976-1986 he was an Associate Minister under the leadership of District Elder Kenneth L. Neal.

From 1988-1990 he was an Associate Minister under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Ruben K. Johnson. After much prayer and seeking the mind of the Lord, in February 1990, he founded the House of Refuge Pentecostal Church. After twenty-seven years of faithful service, his nephew Pastor Cleveland Tyrone Drone under the anointing of God came to him for the two churches to merge together and elevated Pastor Willie Drone as Overseer.

Pastor Willie L. Drone, Sr. is survived by his devoted wife of fifteen years, Dorothy J. Drone; eleven children; twenty-seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four brothers: Daniel (Mary), Lugene (Patricia), Howard (Thelma), and Freddie (Betty); two sisters, Johnietta (Theodus) and Sylvia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. Funeral Service for Pastor Willie l. Drone, Sr. will be held Saturday, June 9, 11:00 at Victorious Life Church, 3400 Paseo Blvd. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment, Twelve Gates Cemetery.
