Obituary for Patricia A Sheedy Patty was born in Pasco on 3/8/55 to JoAnne and Robert Sheedy and died 6/27/18 at Kadlec Hospital at the age of 63. She was a lifelong resident of the area except for a few years spent in Spokane and Idaho. She was predeceased by her father, mother and longtime companion Mike (Spanky) Ray.
She is survived by her son Bobby Simons of Burbank, sisters Pam Breiman of Portland and Karen Lepka of Pasco, granddaughter, Natalie Schaben of Pasco, nieces Rochelle Ubay and Ciara Lepka of Pasco, nephews Sean Lepka of Pasco and Justin Grimmett of Salem. She is also survived by her close friends Mary Hackett and Susan Morgan who were so helpful with Patty’s many medical appointments and procedures while fighting breast cancer. Patty had many pets through the years and leaves behind 3 dogs and 2 cats.
Patty will be remembered for her bright red hair and sometimes fiery temper to go with it. She was a bossy big sister to Pam and Karen, but we loved her just the same! Patty made friends easily and would help out others whenever she could.
She and Spanky were together for many years and spent a lot of time camping, fishing and hosting or attending parties and had a circle of friends with good times had by all. Patty was a great cook and could make just about anything including fish if she didn’t have to clean it first. She also had a “can-do” attitude and looked for new adventures and was also very thrifty.
She had several different jobs through the years but spent most of them at various schools in the Pasco Public Schools nutrition services department. She met many people through work who became lasting friends. Patty liked to travel when time and rerdzt/s allowed and made several trips to Montana with her friend Mary where she really liked to hunt for unusual rocks and enjoy the wide-open spaces.
She also used to travel to Texas to visit a close friend (Kay) who she had met years ago when Kay lived in Pasco. Before Patty’s health deteriorated too much, she was able to visit Aunt Dorothy in San Diego one summer and the next summer Aunt Jean in Rhode Island. Patty had never been to either state before and was grateful for the chance to be able to make the trips and see other parts of the country.
Patty also liked combing through antique and what-not shops with Mary. She was a fan of Antiques Roadshow, always hoping one of her finds might turn out to be something valuable. Patty always liked older and unusual things, especially when they could still be used in our modern-day world.
She also liked to shop with Susan especially bazaars and craft fairs; maybe have lunch out while they were at it. Patty was liked and loved by many. Our hearts break for the loss of our big sister, mom, grandma, aunt and friend.
She is no longer in any pain or suffering, and we are grateful for that. From all-greatquotes.com: “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear”.
