Patricia Ann Differding Prchal , March 11, 1927 — July 24, 2018

Patricia Ann Prchal, 91, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away at CHI St. Francis Home in Breckenridge, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, with a Christian Mother’s Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, followed immediately by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lidgerwood.

Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home. Patricia Ann was born on the family farm near Hankinson, ND, on March 11, 1927, to Peter and Sophia (Grob) Differding. She grew up there and attended school at St. Francis Academy.

On June 8th, 1948, Patricia was united in marriage to Thomas Prchal at St. Philip’s Catholic church, Hankinson. After seven years of marriage, Thomas passed away on July 4, 1955. For this reason, Patricia made her home in Wahpeton and dedicated her time to raising her family of ten.

Her family was made up of her four children and five younger siblings, as her parents were both deceased at this time. Once all the children were raised, Patricia devoted 20 years as a dietitian at St. Francis Hospital/Home in Breckenridge. Patricia was a fearless matriarch in her household, she loved her family and all the time she was able to share with them.

She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed passing along her passions such as baking bread and her specialty dessert – caramel rolls. When Patricia wasn’t busy baking, she appreciated spending time outside in her flower garden. Patricia will be greatly missed by her children, Kenneth Prchal of Wahpeton; Ronald (Denise) Prchal of Dalton, MN; Beverly Hansen of Eagan, MN; Brent (Les) Differding of Wahpeton; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Jerome Differding and Adolph (Eunice) Differding; and her sisters-in-law, Delores Differding and Helen Differding.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Prchal; her son, Donald Prchal; her parents, Peter and Sophia (Grob) Differding; her siblings, Deloris Gereszek, Helen Ostby, Cyril Differding, Jean Ostby, Francis Differding, Benjamin Differding, Peter Differding, Mary Evenson, Florence Weiss, Sophia Differding, and Charles Differding; her sister-in-law, Bernice Differding; and her son-in-law, Thomas E. Hansen.
