OBITUARY Patricia B Doolittle May 22, 1925 – October 31, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Patricia B. Doolittle, born May 22, 1925, passed away on October 31, 2018. The bright light that surrounded this lady’s life finally dimmed and went dark this last week after 93 years. Her body wore out, but now she has a new and perfect body, and is bathed in the eternal brightness of the Light of World, her Savior.
She shines brighter than ever and will forever more. And what a spectacular homecoming it has already been. Her husband, Charles; (Joe), her special daughter, Barbara; her mother, Mary; sister, Marie; and her father, Frank all cheered at her appearance as she crossed from this life to her eternal home because of her faith in her Lord.
This precious soul, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and great-grandmother’s earthly radiance displayed two never-changing characteristics all her years: she never had a bad word to say about anyone, and, those she truly loved were loved no matter what, without condition. There are not many people who can actually do this in our world, but she surely did. She was born in a small Kansas town, Ringo, and was a coal miner’s daughter.
They moved to Henryetta, OK where where her mother Mary ran a cab company and though she never learned to cook all that well, she excelled in school and came to Wichita to become a trained “Wilda the Welder” at the Wichita aircraft companies during WWII. One day she met Charles and they were married three months before he left to serve in the Navy during the war. After he returned she helped him in bookkeeping in his early construction business, raise their children, and played golf at Rolling Hills Country Club as time permitted.
But it was in the late 1960’swhen she met a woman named Irene Jost of Wichita and they together with a few other ladies established a branch of a non-denominational Bible study with 69 women in 1969 known as Bible Study Fellowship which continues to this day. For over 40 years she worked to help build this organization as a discussion and teaching leader as needed, and her dedication to the study of the Word of God powerfully affected the lives of all that knew her well. She, and the rest of the immediate family were life time members and contributors to the University of Kansas and the Jayhawk basketball and football programs.
She was preceded in death by her only daughter and joy of her life, Barbara Bowers, daughter-in-law, Jan Doolittle, father, Frank Krashoc, mother, Mary Bruno, sister, Marie Brown, niece, Sandra Brown, and nephews, Robert Brown; Donald Brown; Robert Doolittle and Ricky Doolittle. She is survived by her sons, David and Stephen Doolittle; grandson, Curtis Doolittle, son-in-law, Rodney Bowers, granddaughter, Patty Kirkpatrick, two great grandchildren, Paxton and Pace Kirkpatrick, her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Claudine Doolittle, all of Wichita, cousin, Frank J. Patrick of Independence, MO, and two very special nieces, Narda Burnett of Seattle, WA and Carol Wieler of San Jose, CA.
