Patricia Baier , September 13, 1958 — April 28, 2018

Patricia Ann Baier LOMBARD, IL – Patricia Ann (Ward) Baier, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Beacon Hill in Lombard. Pat was born on June 23, 1932 in Joliet, daughter of William and Edith (Gustafson) Ward, and grew up in Lockport. She married William (Bill) H. Baier on September 13, 1958.

In her later years, Pat volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Pat is survived by her four nephews; Thomas (Jayne) Adelmann, William (Patricia) Ward, Paul (Suzanne) Ward, and Thomas (Sheila) Ward; and many dear and caring friends who provided her loving care and support in the last years of her life. In addition to being reunited with her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William and Bernadine Ward; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Frank Adelmann; and a niece, Ann Louise (Adelmann) Dobbins.

Pat was a deeply religious person who was devoted to her Lord and Savior; serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at her church and actively being involved in multiple church groups that deepened her faith. Pat realized how God cared for her and felt that all of the transitions in her life were stepping stones in her journey home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr, Naperville, IL.

Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 until the hour of the service. Pat will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Lockport. T he family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Beacon Hill and Peace Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Pat in these final years.
