OBITUARY Patricia Ellen “Pat” Manning March 8, 1944 – December 10, 2018 Patricia Ellen “Pat” Manning, 74, of Oak Island passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at SECU Hospice of Brunswick in Bolivia. Pat was born March 8, 1944, daughter of the late Clayton Fountain and Mary Holly Fountain. She and her husband started Manning Pest Control in 1976 where she worked in various capacities.

She loved to chat with the girls at their office and oftentimes could be found taking goodies to them to show her appreciation. Pat also enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joseph “Joe” E. Clemmons.

Survivors include her husband William Joseph “Joe” Manning of Oak Island; sister, Carol Fountain Clemmons of Midland, Georgia; three nephews, Joseph W. “Billy” Clemmons and wife Susan of Columbus, Georgia and Alex Jeffrey “Jeff” Clemmons and wife Theresa of Chandler, Arizona, and Jonah D. Cumbee of Boone, North Carolina; three nieces, Tami Maguire and husband Joseph of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Sherry B. McComas, and husband Mark of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, and Tina P. Smith and husband Daniel of Zebulon, North Carolina; three great nieces, Lindsey Maguire, Taylor McComas, and Amy Smith; four great nephews, Joseph Maguire, Joshua Clemmons, Christopher Clemmons, and Colton McComas; and two sisters-in-law, Brenda Manning Cumbee and husband Archie of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina and Deborah Lilly of Winterville, North Carolina; and many special friends. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Virran Crump officiating. Burial will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Online condolences may be made at www.
