Patricia Gordon West of West Chester, 83, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Malvern, PA . Pat is survived by her daughter Kathryn and son-in-law Patrick McCauley, daughters-in-law Lynn and Alicia, nephew David, and grandsons Eric, Justin, Alex, Christian and Peter. Pat was predeceased by her husband Frederick and her sons Stephen and James.

Pat was born on December 7, 1934 in Coaldale, PA to Frank and Mary Gordon (Kalis). She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Coaldale, the University of Pennsylvania in 1956, and Villanova University in 1979. She raised three children with her husband Frederick and had a distinguished career in science, publishing several research articles and working at the Wistar Institute, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Hahnemann Hospital, SmithKline Beecham, GlaxoSmithKline, and retiring from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 1995.

The Rev. Dr. Debra Sutton will officiate a private service celebrating Pat’s life. Donations in memory of Pat may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1105 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341.
