Patricia “Patty” Griffin, 50, passed away peacefully, at home, with her husband by her side. Patty was born September 14, 1967 to Norb Buresh and Dorothy (Kreilkamp) Buresh. She graduated from Preble High School, Class of 1985, and after high school she attended the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, where in 1986 she met her future husband, Mark and they were married on November 15, 1997.

After college, Patty worked in the office for Red’s Excavating for nearly 25 years. Patty truly loved and enjoyed her job. She loved all of her coworkers, who she thought of as family.

Patty enjoyed time with family and friends, whether it was family gatherings or attending book club, girl’s night out or volleyball, she was always very active. Patty was also an avid gardener. When relaxing at night, Patty was either reading or creating one of her cross stitch projects, which were beautiful works of art.

Patty loved collecting anything Christmas, especially anything to do with Santas and also everything to do with Stephen King. Patty is survived by her husband, Mark; her dog, Samantha; and her two cats, Dash and Ferb. Patty is also survived by her dad, Norb Buresh; mother, Dorothy Buresh; mother-in-law, Barbara Griffin; sister, Deb (Mitch) Specht; four brothers, Tom (Debbie) Buresh, Don (Debbie) Buresh, Greg (Carol) Buresh and Steve (Karen) Buresh; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Mark) Larson; brother-in-law, Scott (Pam) Griffin; many nieces and nephews, which include Scott Buresh, Katherine (Bryan) Schmidt, Julie Specht, Lisa (Tom Schwermin) Buresh, Matt Specht who was Patty’s Godson, Sara Buresh, Nick Buresh, Kaitlyn Buresh who was Patty’s Goddaughter, Adam Buresh, Lily Buresh, Clarissa Karpen; and one great niece, Aurora Lucia Schmidt.

Patty was preceeded in death by two of her dogs, Luke and Thor; maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Michael “Bern” Buresh; sister-in-law, Susan Buresh; and her Godparents, Carol and Bob Christian. A special Thank you to Pam Griffin and Cheryl Larson who stayed with Patty during the day so she could remain at home. Thank you to Katie and Melissa from Heartland Hospice and the rest of the staff for all of their care and support.

Also thank you to the entire staff at The Bellin Cancer Team for all of their care and support over the past 16 months. Another thank you to all of Patty’s friends for all of their love and support. Patty was truly loved and cared for by many people.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Patty’s request was that donations be made to animal rescue centers or to The Bellin Cancer Team. Thank you to all. A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned.
