Obituary for Patricia Jane Wood SOUTHLAKE – Patricia “Pat” Jane Wood, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Southlake, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Pat was born on Sept. 13, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa to Reverend and Mrs. Novin Buntenbach.

She graduated from Evangel College in 1963, and earned her Masters in Education from the University of North Texas in 1990. Pat was a high school business teacher for over 20 years. While at Evangel College, Pat met her husband of 37 years, Pete Smith.

They had two children together, Perry and Paige. Pat lived in many different places over the years, finally moving to Keller after retiring in 1998. It was there that she met her husband, Donald Wood, whom she married in 2002.

Don and Pat enjoyed many adventures traveling together. Don was a gentle husband and loving caretaker to Pat during her final years. Pat had a great love for Don’s large and close knit family.

His daughter Mary has been an amazing rdzt/ of strength to both Don and Pat. Pat lived her whole life to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The love she had for the Lord was a light for the whole world to see.

Special thanks to Karen Fonville and the staff at the Isle of Watermere in Southlake for their help and support over the last three years of her life. Survivors include her husband, Donald Wood; sister, Dona Westbrook (Sidney); children, Perry Smith (Amy), Paige McConnell (Brett), Michael Wood (Gretchen), Paul Wood (Lorraine), Patricia Flowers, Sharon Oliver, Mary Ellen Neary (Robert), and David Wood (Lory); grandchildren, Austin, Derek, Zoe, Logan, Luke, Anthony, Melinda, Justin, Krystal, Stephen, Bonnie, Brian, Lea, Frankee, and Taylor; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
