Patricia “Pat” Maddox Outlaw, 69, passed away on October 29, 2018 after an 8-year battle with Breast Cancer. Pat was born in Waco, Texas October 20, 1949 to the late Jack T. and Wilma Maddox. She was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Maddox and a grandson Alan P Grady, Jr. A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 pm Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston, NC.

The family will receive friends following the service. Marriage brought her to Wayne County, North Carolina where she raised her two children Alicia and Alan. Mrs. Pat never met a stranger and loved children.

She worked with the WAGES Head Start program in Wayne County for 37 years until her retirement in 2013. Pat has lived in Lenoir County since 1997. Pat loved her family with all her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Outlaw, her daughter Alicia Smith and husband Sandy, her son Alan Grady and wife Lynnette, stepson Neal Outlaw and wife Julie. Her precious grandchildren Chris Grady, Alex and Rory Smith, Brooks Grady, Michael and Tanner Outlaw and her beloved dachshunds Patches and Smokey. She was also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a long host of friends.
