Patricia Lou Abrahamson, 85, a lifelong Crookston, MN resident, passed away at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston on Sunday, September 9, 2018, embraced and comforted by the love of her family, many of whom were at her bedside. She had been ill for a short time. Patsy was born in Crookston on June 24, 1933, one of 8 children of the union of Arthur and Olga (Lundeen) Crane.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended Crookston schools, and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1952. On May 9, 1953 Patsy was united in marriage to Earl Milo Abrahamson at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church parsonage in Crookston. Patsy and Earl lived in Crookston Township just outside of the city and she led a very busy life in her roles as wife, mom, and homemaker.

Together, she and Earl raised their 5 children: Joyce, Dean, Nancy, Bruce, and Barbara in a very loving Christian home. Patsy was a devoted member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the afternoon and evening guilds, and was the longtime chairperson of the funeral committee. She was adored by the children of Our Savior’s School and often brought them treats to enjoy with their milk breaks.

Her favorite pastimes included sewing and making lefsa, the latter passion affectionately earning her the title, “The Lefsa Lady”. Patsy was a wonderful cook, and in her glory when preparing meals for her family and friends. She and Earl enjoyed a wonderful life together for over 65 years and had recently celebrated their milestone anniversary hosted by their family at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where there was an outpouring of love.

She was extremely proud of her kids and considered herself blessed by the love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patsy will be very lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who were a part of her life. Family members include, Earl, her beloved husband of 65 years; their 5 children: Joyce Beattie of Maple Grove, MN, Dean Abrahamson, Nancy and Mark Bruggeman, Bruce Abrahamson, and Barbara and Rick Holweger, all of Crookston, MN; and son-in-law, Randy Beattie of Crookston; 9 grandchildren: Tricia (Scott) Sanders, Matthew Beattie, Brandi (Daniel) Halland, Sara Beattie, Aaron (Erin) Bruggeman, Dustin Bruggeman, Andrew Abrahamson, Christopher (Jessica) Abrahamson, and Elizabeth Abrahamson; and 8 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Georgia Sanders, Haddie and Judson Halland, Arthur and Sylvie Bruggeman, and Gabe and Eli Abrahamson.

She also leaves 4 siblings: Carol Erickson of Redwood Falls, MN, Margaret (Donald) Gold of New Hope, MN, Linda (Gerald) Helgeson of Moorhead, MN, and Dennis (Mary Jo) Crane of Milbank, SD; brothers and sisters-in-law: Delores Crane Billings, Montana, Jane Bryan-Crane, Leicester, United Kingdom, Janice (Dale) Finkenbinder of Crookston, Judy Farden of Seattle, WA, and Roger Abrahamson of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Olga Crane; granddaughter, Heather Bruggeman; brothers: Earl, Jerry, and James Crane; and her parents-in-law, Bert and Edna Abrahamson. May Patsy’s memory be forever treasured.

A memorial service for Patricia Abrahamson will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Crookston with The Rev. Steve Bohler, officiating. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 9 to 11:00 am.
