Obituary for Patricia Mae Lamar Patricia Mae Lamar, 78, died on September 6, 2018 after a long battle with heart and pulmonary disease. Patricia was born on January 27, 1940 in Albany, Oregon. She grew up in Corvallis Oregon with her parents and sister Peggy and moved to the east coast in her early 20’s.
Patricia settled into Kennewick, Washington in 1980. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Manning, her husband, Lewis H. Lamar Jr., her stepson, Lewis Lamar III and her granddaughter, Alyssa Mae. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Buckingham, children Natalie (Fred) Morris, Allan (Kim) San Souci, Laura (Rodney) Mills, Summer (Ken) Chambers, Willow Harding (Randy Emineth), Autumn (Trent) Olson, her stepsons Gary Charles (Donna) Lamar, Michael Dean Lamar and many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
In the early 90’s Patricia and Lewis founded Finley Fuzzy Farm, a commercial rabbitrey with over 700 rabbits. She served as Chairperson of the WA State Rabbit Breeders Association for several years and became quite well known as an authority on rabbits. She co-founded the Professional Rabbit Meat Association where she served as the President for 8 years which grew into an international organization.
Patricia was an extremely talented individual. She was an author of numerous pieces and had several political cartoons published in the Providence Journal Bulletin. She taught herself Native American basket weaving, taxidermy and dog grooming.
She could draw, paint, sculpt, knit, sew, needlework, crochet and do about any type of craft imaginable. Patricia was a long-standing member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved volunteering her time to assist her church, she was a member of the Knotty Ladies group where she made rosaries for missionaries and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society.
Patricia will be remembered for her love for God, her compassion for others and her wicked sense of humor. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 5:00 p.m. at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, Washington. Patricia’s funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 with a graveside service directly afterwards.
