Michael Garry as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 9 am – 11 am prior to Mass at the church.

Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Patrick J. “Pat” Gentile, 65, of Gilbert passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth after a short illness.

He was surrounded by family and friends. Pat was born in Virginia, MN on September 27, 1953 to Ross and Dorothy (Mickelson) Gentile. He graduated from Gilbert High School, Class of 1971 and Mankato State University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health.

After college, Pat went to work at Boyer Lumber in Virginia, Minnesota, having worked there for thirty-five years. He became co-owner of True Value Home Center in Virginia while also co-owning Olde Country Floral and Gift in Gilbert and Virginia. Pat had a passion for floral gardens and enjoyed planting and caring for his yards in Gilbert.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert, serving as a Trustee, singing in Sunday morning choir, and directing the funeral choir. He served on the Gilbert HRA Board and the Gilbert Cemetery Advisory Board. Survivors include his sister, Louise “Lou” Roberg of Mahtomedi; nephews: Sam (Sharon) Pitkanen and their children, Kyler and Larissa, all of Duluth, Ross (Hanna) Roberg of Minneapolis and Kevin Roberg of New York City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; brother-in-law, Matt Roberg; and great nephews: Harrison and Hudson Roberg. SERVICES Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 21, 2019 11:00 AM St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Summitt and Louisiana Ave.
