Paul B. Jensen Paul Jensen, at the age of 87, died Saturday February 16th, 2019 at Southern Lifestyle Assisted Living in Lake Placid, Florida following a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Sally (Sarah Carpenter) Jensen; his sister, Martha King, his daughter and her husband, Susan and Bob Payette; his son and his wife, Eric and Mary Jensen, grandchildren , Peter and Annette Payette, Nichole Jasch and Jacqueline Jensen. Paul was born in Oakland and raised in Livermore, California.

He was the son of Oliver Brinton Jensen, the town doctor, and Louise Nebeker Jensen. He loved playing sports, riding horses and having fun with friends. After high school he chose Oregon State for college.

He joined the Theta Xi Fraternity where he met Sally, at a mixer. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Paul and Sally were married January 10, 1954.

After working for Boeing and serving in the Air Force in Washington State as an air traffic controller he worked as an Industrial Engineer for Crown Zellerbach and then later joined Boise Cascade in La Grande, Oregon. Paul held various management positions at Boise plants and eventually made the move to International Falls, MN as the Woodlands Manager. Paul loved his job and social life in the Falls.

He retired in 1994. Paul and Sally worked hard to finish their beloved cabin on Jackfish Island, Rainy Lake. Paul was a very accomplished woodcarver and there was a first class wood carving group in Lake Placid, Fl.

After visiting close friends Dave and Helen Ramnes in Lake Placid one winter it was an easy choice as their snowbird destination. Paul and Sally followed the Ramnes to Jackfish Island and then Florida. Sally was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and Paul devoted his last 15 years to being the primary caregiver, taking care of the love of his life.

He taught us all a valuable life lesson. His dedication, analysis and creativity in keeping Sally in good spirits and physical condition were extraordinary. A truly remarkable person will be missed.
