Paul C. Ross, of Village On The Isle, Venice, Florida and formerly of Englewood, FL and Hull, MA passed away on December 3, 2018 at the age of 94 after a short and unexpected illness. He was born on July 24, 1924 in Hingham, MA to the late Carl and Wilma Ross of Hull. He was a longtime resident of Hull, MA having lived there for 70 years until 1995 at which time he moved to Florida.

He is survived by his wife Monika Ross, a son Larry C. Ross and wife Rebecca of Skowhegan, ME; and a daughter-in-law Bonnie Ross of Detroit, ME. Paul is survived by grandchildren Jessica King of Kennesaw, GA; Hannah Burdin and husband Dan of Farmingdale, ME; Adam Ross and wife Elizabeth of Detroit, ME; and Caitlin Wahrer and husband Ben of Portland, ME. He is also survived by great grandchildren Cody King; Jackson and Grace Leach; and Landon and Lucas Ross.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife Connie Ross in 1999 and by his son Earl C. Ross in 2016. Paul graduated from Hingham High School, Class of 1941. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps at the age of 18 years in 1943 and proudly served as a pilot during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations.

He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for piloting flights totaling more than 800 hours in India, Burma and “over the Hump” (the Himalayas) into China. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. Following his time in the service he received a BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University in 1952 and a MS in Engineering from Harvard University in 1955.

He was a founder and past president of SEA Consultants, an engineering and architectural firm in Cambridge, MA from which he retired in 1986. He is a 63 year member of Old Colony Masonic Lodge in Hingham, MA and served as Worshipful Master in 1963. He was Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the former Hull Co-Operative Bank and also served as an honorary director of the former Abington Savings Bank.

He served on the Hull Permanent Planning and Building Commission and the Hull Permanent Sewer Commission. He was a member and served as treasurer of the Hull Methodist Church, now St. Nicholas United Methodist Church. As accomplished as Paul was, he will be best remembered for the love, good humor and humility he demonstrated.

He was a beloved son, husband, father, friend, and idolized by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His was a shining example of a life well lived. In compliance with his wishes, private services have been held.
