Obituary for Paul Meloff Paul Korstoff Meloff -age 90 passed away Sunday December 2, 2018. Paul was born November 14, 1928, in Toronto, Canada, son of Karsto & Vana Meloff and son-in-law of Vasil and Mary Bliznakoff. He also attended school in Toronto.

Paul retired from Clark Equipment Company where he worked as a CAD engineer. He was one of the founding members of St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church which started in 1966. He was also an active parishioner and held many board positions since its inception.

Paul also sang in the choir. He is preceded in death by his wife Eileen (Mitzy) Meloff; daughter Michelle Slone; brother Dan; sisters, Alexandra, Victoria; sisters-in-law Sonjia Baker, Mary Bliznakoff, brothers-in-law Dan Bliznakoff, Pete Voduris and Frank Paganini. He will be missed by his sister Margaret and brother Jim (Jake) Meloff; sister-in-law Angie Meloff; in-laws Jim/Ruth Beach, Tom Baker, Kathy Bliznakoff, Violet Paganini; son and daughter-in- law Marc (Sherry) Meloff; grandchildren Sasha, Andrea (Tayler), Greta; son-in-law Greg Slone and many nieces, nephews and friends throughout Canada and the US.

He played youth hockey in Canada and senior hockey with many teams in Jackson and Kalamazoo. Paul had a passion for the game of hockey. He coached many league championship teams in Jackson and started the first High School Hockey team at Battle Creek Lakeview in 1973.

He was also Referee in Chief for the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo Sectional for many years. Paul also liked playing golf in the summer with many of his friends at Cedar Creek and Binder Park. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and followed them to many events as they grew up.

Paul also enjoyed the company of his dog Gypsy and was glad to see that she was adopted to a good home. The family would like to extend a thank you to Glenn Arbor Hospice for his brief stay. Visitation will be Monday December 10th at Baxter Funeral Home, 375 W Dickman Rd, Battle Creek from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Panaketa starting at 7:30 pm.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church Mass will be presided by the Very Rev. Archpriest Lawrence Bacik, 5066 B Dr S, Battle Creek. Interment will immediately follow the mass at Battle Creek Memorial Park.
