Paul R. Lockard Sr., 69, of Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Clarence Lockard and Bertha Maxine Carter Lockard. Paul was a veteran of US Army and he worked at Linkbelt in Indianapolis for 15 years and at Beamis in Terre Haute for 20 years.

He married Dana Wright on December 12, 1968. He was a member of Carlisle Methodist Church. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mike Lockard, granddaughter, Emma Lockard and two great-grandchildren; Anna and Noah.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Dana Lockard, three sons; Paul Locakrd Jr. of Carlisle, Indiana, Michael Lockard of Carlisle, Indiana and Jason Wright (Tasha) of Sullivan, Indiana, daughter, Dana Wright Mehrer (William Mason) of Washington, Indiana, two brothers; Danny Lockard (Faith) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rusty Lockard (Sherry) of Indianapolis, Indiana, three sisters; Sandy Cripe (Ted), Anita Shelly (John) and Patty Lambert and grandchildren; Ryan, Josh, Cody, Kyle, Caroline, Malcom, Jeffery, Jackie, Bethany, Megan, Luke, Nick, Joseph and Zylar. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. Bill Sam Phegley officiating.

Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Carlisle, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Brust Funeral Home.
