Paul’s Obituary Paul Wesley Eckels, 80 of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, February 28, 2019. He was a devoted husband to Ginny Eckels who passed in 2017. He was born January 4, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland to Alfred and Lucille Eckels.

Paul deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends He is survived by a sister, Linda Hanna of Ocean City MD; a son Mark Eckels and his wife Kelly; a daughter Bonnie Stauffer and her husband Travis; as well as 6 loving grandchildren, Julie, Daniel, Sarah, and Molly Eckels, Corey Stauffer, and Tia Walker. To each of them, Paul passes down his fun-loving spirit, and his great enjoyment of sports, recreation and the ocean. At 6’6”, “Tall Paul” was an excellent athlete and student.

He could usually be found playing basketball and football with his good friends from The Boys Brigade, at Bishop Cummings Episcopal Church. Paul graduated from Baltimore Poly Technic Institute in 1957, and served in the National Guard. He went to work for Baltimore Business Forms and became a leading salesman.

His career moves allowed him to enjoy and reside in many areas of the country, including Connecticut, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, New York and West Virginia. No matter where he lived, Paul was an active member of his local church, enthusiastically cheered on his Baltimore Sports teams, and meticulously kept the most beautiful yard, garden and flowers. He was a faithful friend and neighbor who was quick to lend a hand, shovel your snow, mow your grass, or pay for a meal, before you could even get to it.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Bishop Cummins Reformed Episcopal Church, 2001 Frederick Rd. Catonsville, Maryland with Pastor Cedric Benner officiating.
