Obituary for Paula Ann Springhart Paula Ann Springhart was born May 5, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to George & Florence Springhart. Paula died in Takilma, Oregon on July 13, 2018 at the place she called home for 46 years. Paula’s home, the land and house on the Illinois River is filled with her spirit of creativity, hard work, beauty, and love.

She shared the heart and soul of her life with her partner and husband Scott MacAdam. She leaves behind her son, Teal Springhart and her two step-children Keddy and Eppie Williamson, and the rest of The Grubbles. Since 1983 “Pastry Paula” has been baking sumptuous Danish pastries and delivering them throughout the Illinois Valley.

She has written two children’s books and, in addition, it has been widely known for years that Paula and Scott’s home has been “the place to be” on Halloween night for warm cinnamon rolls, hot cider, and scary spiders. Paula has been a longtime member of the Siskiyou chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her name may send it to Margaret Meierhenry, 1520 Hammel Road, Eagle Point, OR 97523 (payable to: Siskiyou Chapter NARGS).

Paula was a gardener, an artist, a baker extraordinaire, a grand story teller, a wilderness canoeist, and one of the most curious and inquisitive people you might ever encounter. If you were lucky enough to sit and visit with Paula for any length of time, you got the benefit of someone who was genuinely interested, concerned, and completely curious about you and whatever you were doing or excited about at that time. She would engage you in a way that left you feeling like you really mattered – because you did to Paula.

Her gift of gab and her focus and attention usually made you laugh, sometimes made you cry but always left you wanting more and feeling connected. Her curly silver hair, her smile, and her endless energy will be greatly missed.
