Pauline “Pegi”‘s Obituary Tulia, Texas—Pauline “Pegi” Smith, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Pauline was born March 5, 1927 in Mt.

View, Oklahoma to Walter and Florene Block. She attended Clovis High School where her and twin sister were twirlers for the Clovis Band. She married Abner Joe Smith, Jr. on July 28, 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico.

She was a bookkeeper for the Frontier Body Shop for several years. Pauline was the president for the Plainview VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was a den mother for the cub scouts in Plainview.

In her free time she loved boating, water skiing and camping. She also loved cooking, sewing and crossword puzzles. Pauline will always be remembered by the loving heart she gave to her family and always left what she was doing just to help them in whatever they needed; she was our “rock”.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Florene Block, her husband: Abner Joe Smith, Jr., her sisters: Kristine Waltmon, Walterine “Sis” Hughes and Juanita “Nita” Breaux, two brothers: Dolphus “Bubba” Block and Altus “Dottie” Block. Pauline is survived by her daughter: Barty Christine of Alvarado, TX, two sons: Jimmy Joe Smith of Tulia, TX and Gary Don Smith of Borger, TX, one sister: Naomi “Noie” Kelm of Horshoe Bend, ID, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Area Community Hospice, 4300 Olton Rd.
