Obituary for Pauline “Polly” R. Archer Pauline ”Polly” R. Archer, 93 of Zanesville, died 4:06 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at The Oaks at Bethesda. She was born Sunday, April 12, 1925, in Zanesville, the daughter of Edwin L Schafer and Bernice B (Warner) Schafer. She married Richard E. Archer on Thursday, September 23, 1948, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Pauline was a former employee of the Citizens National Bank and a homemaker in recent years. She was an avid card player, having played both bridge and euchre in various clubs throughout the years. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and writing poetry.

Pauline is survived by a daughter: Mary Anne (Mark) Daggett of Vincent; two sons: Patrick Archer of Gratiot and Shawn Archer both of Zanesville; three grandchildren: Ian, Jacob, and Joshua; five great-grandchildren; one sister: Judith (Bob) Kessler of Charleston, WV; one brother: Ronald (Annette) Schafer of Louisville, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Archer and two sisters: Jean Harnetty and Phyllis Strahler. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 945 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Pauline will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Mt.
