Pauline Ruth (Rollins) Yancey February 10, 1924 ~ March 6, 2019 Pauline Ruth (Rollins) Yancey was born in Hoquiam, Washington, on Feb. 10, 1924, moved to Vernonia, where she attended school and furthered her education, graduating from Northwest Business College in 1943. 1947 found Mom in a bus coming down the grade into Prineville, where she met and married Donald S. Yancey.

They owned, operated and raised their sons at Dry Creek Ranch southeast of Prineville for many years, later selling and moving closer to town. Pauline then opened and ran her dress shop fondly named Yancey’s in Prineville. Health problems forced the sale of her shop.

Later, she worked for M. Jacobs in Bend for a time thereafter, deciding to become a full-time GG (great-grandma), which she did with vigor and passion until her passing. Pauline enjoyed hiking, golf, her Bible study group, greeting at the door of Westside Church and watching the family sporting events. Mom, Grandma, GG, friend, whatever she was to you, she was the most wonderful and caring lady you could have known.

With strong faith and family by her side, Pauline went to meet her Lord at the age of 95 and promised to send us some sunshine, and she did! Pauline is survived by her sisters, Cheryl (Gordon), of Medford, and Jacki of Peoria, Arizona; sons, Paul (Patty), Steve (Laina) and Dick (Pat), all of Prineville; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She dearly loved her family.

Per her wishes, a private family memorial will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Prineville Funeral Home is handling her final arrangements.
