Obituary for Peggy Gower Peggy Gower, 84, of Johnston City, went home to with her Lord and Savior at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Peggy was born April 25, 1934 in Herrin to Harry and Jenny Mae (Walker) Robinson. She married Robert Jack on July 24, 1952.
He preceded her in death on July 11, 1970. She later married R.J. Gower on September 2, 1978. He also preceded her in death on April 29, 1995.
Peggy was employed by Norge in Herrin for several years. She was also a beautician Peggy attend the Church of God in Johnston City. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and making crafts.
She loved to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren. Peggy is survived her daughter, Kim (Millard) Saylor of Marion; four grandchildren, Robert W. (Amanda) Saylor of Johnston City, Jason (Erica) Saylor of Marion, Bethany Perry of Herrin and Emily Jack of St. Louis; nine great-grandchildren, Tyler, McKenzie, Gage and Maci Saylor, Alyssa and Morgan Perry, Megan and Nick Hoffard and Luke Lampley; sister, Ruby Restivo of Herrin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy Jack; stillborn grandson, Bobby Jack; three sisters, Helen Gibbens, Betty Thompson, Pauline Parrish; two brothers, Jimmy and Leslie “Tick” Robinson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Gaylon Stewart officiating.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.
