OBITUARY Peter J. McNicol Born February 13, 1945 Peter J. McNicol, age 73, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in Deltona, Florida. Peter was born in Parkchester, New York. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward McNicol, his mother, Margaret Grady McNicol, his sister, Patricia McNicol Dudley, and his brother, Edward McNicol.

Peter grew up in Rockville Centre, New York and happily retired to Deltona, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Francine, his daughter, Kelly Kortman, his son-in-law, Eric; his son, Scott McNicol, his daughter-in-law, Alexandra; and his five grandchildren: Ava, Olivia, Gavin, Mateo, and Sofia. Peter’s family and friends were his greatest joy.

He especially loved spending time with his precious grandchildren. Peter had an encyclopedic knowledge of topics ranging from politics and business to sports and rock music. He had a lifelong love for learning, people, and life.

Peter will always be remembered for his laugh-at-life humor, sharp wit, contagious laugh, and deep compassion for others. He always put others first, making everyone he met feel appreciated and important. Peter McNicol was a brave and selfless man who will be dearly missed.

Peter’s memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at 11:00am at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
