Phillip Baxter Cox, 69, of Kinston passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center. Born in Lenoir County on May 4, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Wanda Baker Cox, son Derek Baxter Cox (Rebecca) of Leland, grandchildren Kacen Blade Wooten Cox and Elizabeth Smith and brother George Wooten Cox II.

Phillip was a Material Superintendent with Cooper Bussman Manufacturing, Goldsboro & Eaton for 30 years and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, beach music and “cutting a rug”. He is preceded in death by his son Dean Brandon Cox, parents George Wooten Cox and Ruth Hill Cox and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ira Bernard Baker and Bertha Smith Baker. Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Fellowship Church, 2278 Pauls Path Road Kinston NC 28504 or a charity of your choice.
