Mavis Jones Jarman, 85, of Trenton passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018, at UNC Lenoir Health Care. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Horace Jarman; parents, Fred and Katie Jones and brothers, Robert Jones and Fred Jones, Jr. Mavis is survived by her daughter, Vicky Jarman Stroud and husband William of Kinston; son, Jeffery Ray Jarman of Trenton, grandchildren, Jennifer Stroud Hughes and husband Marshall, Valerie Stroud and fiancé John Whitehead, William Brandon Stroud; great grandchildren, Chandler Blake Hughes, Hayden Cole Hughes, Denver Ryan Whitehead, Aeralyn Jade Stroud and Kinleigh Raye Stroud; sister, Sally Jones, Patricia Bogey; brother, Reynold Jones and wife Patricia; sister-in-law, Syble Jones Taylor; several nieces and nephews and church family. Funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Lynwood Jones, Jr. officiating.

Visitation will follow the service. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Trenton Cemetery.
