Phillip (Brion) Havens started his engineering career at Western electric in 1980 as Lead Engineer in telecommunications hardware. In 1983 he graduated from Louisiana Tech University with both BSEE and MSEE degrees.

This is how his co-workers remember him: “Phil, we will miss you so much, and there simply are no words to express what you meant to so many people. Your passing has left us in great sorrow, and the void you leave in our hearts and community can never be filled. You always had kind words and your friendship for almost 25 years will never be forgotten by me or my family.

Your everlasting and deep faith to God and your family were a shining example of what Jesus teaches us. Regardless of faith you loved everyone with an open heart. Jo, Paul and Daniel, you had the greatest husband and father I could imagine and everyday I looked up to Phil and strived to obtain his faith and temperament and love for life.

His laugh was contagious, and his talents boundless. I most enjoyed my time with Phil outside of meetings where he loved his good food and a good glass of wine and exploring the wonders of the cities that God provided for us. And most of all his caring and love for others will be missed by all of us.

Rest in peace my friend! ! !
