Obituary for Phillip David Grau Phillip David Grau, 73, of Duncan, SC, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. Phillip was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Spartanburg Community College. He was co-owner of Mechanical Advantage, a mechanical engineering firm.

He was passionate about and dedicated to his work. He also served in the National Guard. Phillip was a bright, funny, generous, and caring man who prioritized his family above all else.

His family includes his beloved wife, Libby Donald Grau; a son, Matthew, a daughter, Haley; and grandchildren, Bailey and Gracie, all of whom are from Spartanburg; a brother, Gus Grau (Myra) of Lancaster, SC and other family members. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. He will be laid to rest in a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Welcome Home Foundation, a foundation established by his children, Matthew Grau and Haley Grau, in order to serve the needs of orphans, foster children, and those in need, including the brave individuals who care for these beautiful children of promise.
