Phillip “Pat”‘s Obituary On Monday, May 20, 2019, Phillip Patrick Cummins, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at age 87. Pat was born on July 23, 1931 in Durango, CO to Thomas and Gertrude (Hoagland) Cummins. He enlisted in the Navy in 1950, served on the USS McDERMUT and fought in the Korean war.

He received the following awards: National Defense Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Ribbon, Korean Service Ribbon (three stars), China Service Ribbon. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in 1958, and had an Insurance Agency in Fort Collins for 30 years. On September 1st, 1957, he married Mary Sine Sorensen.

They raised four sons, Mike, Tom, Dan, and Chris, and one daughter, Becky. Pat was a dedicated husband and father, a family man through and through. He had a passion for animals of all kinds.

He loved fishing, skiing, hockey, tennis, and sailing. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious story telling, and his kind and adventurous spirit. Pat was preceded in death by two sons, Tom and Dan.

He is survived by his wife Mary, and his three children, Mike, Chris, and Becky.
