She was born September 16, 1948 in Elizabethton to the late Rev. John & Lois Ellen Grindstaff Townsend.

She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Travis Tolley, a sister: Donna Pentecost and two brothers: Johnny Townsend and Ronald Townsend. She was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include Two Sons: Christopher Chad Tolley and Kevin Tolley & wife Tanya. Two Grandchildren: Dustin & Megan Tolley. Two Great Grandsons: Tucker Tolley and Rhyder Edwards.

Two Sisters: Nina Thompson & husband Paul and Florence Andes. Two Sisters-In-Law: Charlotte Townsend and Jackie Townsend. Several nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Grindstaff-Combs Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Street and Rev. Jason Thompson officiating.

Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday will be: Dustin Tolley, Jonathan Townsend, Jason Thompson, Dillon Andes, Jacob Thompson, Mark Weddle, and Doyce Sheffield & Noah “Fuzz” Ensor. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews and all her friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www. memorialfcelizabethton.com.
