Obituary for Phyllis L. Twardzik Phyllis Lydia Twardzik, 73, of Vulcan, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Sault Ste.

Marie, to the late Ben and Phyllis Balkum in June 1945. After moving to Norway she met her husband George Twardzik and married in 1970. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Phyllis loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren as well as her family. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She was always ready to help anyone in need.

She had a giving soul. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Hiddi (David) Pohl; son, Greg Twardzik; grandsons, Cody, Dillon, Pohl and Josh Neuens; five sisters, Pamela (Ed) Jacobson of Indiana, Shirley Perry of Missouri, JoJo Sauld of Norway, Monica Wagner of Wisconsin, Sandra (Byron) DallaValle of Tennessee; four brothers, Benjamin (song) Balkum of Iron Mountain, Dennis Balkum of Pembine, Wis. , Mourice (Jean) Balkum of Delaware, Raymond (Sue) Balkum of Iron Mountain; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Phyllis Balkum; her husband, George Twardzik; sister, Barbra McKay; four nephews, Dennis McKay, Cale Jacobson, Benjamin Balkum and Curtis Twardzik.
