Obituary of Phyllis Ilsley Mrs. Phyllis L. Ilsley, 87, of Aiken, SC formerly of Midland, MI passed away peacefully Monday, July 23, 2018 at Trinity on Laurens. Mrs. Ilsley was born on March 10, 1931 to the late Fred H. and Elsie (Sommerfield, LaCross) Christiansen in Alpena, Michigan. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1949.

She married Gerald C. Ilsley, June 27, 1953 in Alpena, Michigan. She moved to Midland, Michigan in 1957 where she lived until retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1986. She has been a resident of Aiken, South Carolina since 2005.

Mrs. Ilsley worked at the Alpena Savings Bank, Alpena, Michigan and later as a secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church, Midland, Michigan. She was an active church member serving in many areas. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aiken, SC.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael McComb of Aiken, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Marge) Ilsley and Gary Ilsley all of Alpena Michigan, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband Gerald; son Thomas; brothers, Earl, William and Richard; and a sister, Jeannette Hamann. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Road, Aiken, SC 29803 with the Rev.

Jeff Erbskorn officiating. Internment services will held at a later time in Midland Cemetery, Midland, Michigan. Friends are invited to greet the family at a reception immediately following the funeral service on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may want to consider the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Mortgage Principal Fund, 961 Trail Ridge Road, Aiken, SC 29803 or the Ilsley Scholarship Fund at the Midland Foundation, 96 Ashman Circle, Midland, MI 48640. The family would like to express their sincere appreication to the staff of Trinity on Laurens for the expectional care provided to Mrs. Ilsley. The Historic George Funeral Home 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken SC 29801 is assisting the family with arrangements.
