Oglesby, 94, of Poteau, OK, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, in Poteau, OK. He was born January 14, 1924 in Hartshorne, OK, to W.R. and Mattie Irene Oglesby. Homer served in the U.S. Navy, then went to Auto Body trade school in Kansas City where he met his wife of 50 plus years Lula Margaret.

He was a auto body man for 50 years, worked at various places and taught his father, brothers and various others the trade. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Donna Oglesby, step-mother Geneva Oglesby, brothers Bennie, Thomas and Dallas Oglesby. Homer is survived by two sons, Ronnie and Kathlene Sumners of South Haven, MS and Homer and Shawna Oglesby of Howe, OK, a daughter Bonna and Cecil Ray of Wister, OK, a brother Raymond and Aletha Oglesby of Broken Arrow, OK, four sisters, May Riley of Atlanta, GA, Loma Hodges of Dothan, AL, Vertia Hurches of Sterling IL.

and Doris Oglesby of Poteau, OK. , grandchildren, Jalei Oglesby, Brayden Oglesby, Cynthia and Ryan Wilcox, Michael Cantrell, Kimberly and Nic Lahr, Ronda and Keith Maness, Liberti and John Pounders, and Kenny and Emily Sumners, fifteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren as well as a host of extended family, friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Burgess, Jim Hilderbrand, Phillip Hebert, Johnny Baggs, Jeff Shore and Doug Stone.
