Rachel A. Stonum, 72, of Altamont, died at 4:05 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois. Rachel was born Thursday, March 7, 1946, in Charleston, IL to Charlie and Beulah (Millage) Veach. She had been employed at the Altamont Garment Factory and Lutheran Care Center, Altamont, IL.

Rachel is survived by: son, James (Jennifer) Stonum, Farina; daughter, Wanda (Kevin) Ellis, Altamont; brother, Lowell (Mickey) Veach, Mason; sisters,… Read More » Mary and Wanda Higgs both of Altamont; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Bud, Harold, Dale, Paul, Rex, Gilbert, and Max V and a sister, Juanita. Family services will be held at a later date at Mason Cemetery.
