Rachel Ella Stocks Ames, age 82, of Ioka, passed away July 16, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Rachel was born August 20, 1935 in Myton to Sanford and Mary Birch Stocks. She married Don Ellis Ames on March 27, 1953.

Rachel was so full of love and generosity for all of her family. She had the ability to make you feel you were the most important person in her life. She loved the outdoors, traveling, rock hounding, visiting family and big reunions.

One of her passions was taking photos of wildlife and mountain scenery. Her favorite past time was going on rides that started as one day and could turn into 3 days. Rachel is survived by her children, Donald (Ann) Ames, Lynne (Jeff) Hall, James (Liz) Ames, Terrie (Larren) Holdren, Diane Lind, Sam (Madeline) Ames, 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, her sisters, Doris Stocks, Kathy Bonham, Christine Joyce Lawrence, and sister-in-law, Ursula Stocks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Ames, sons-in-law, Steve Lind, Larry Jenkins, grandchildren, Joshua Lind, Samantha Ames, brothers, Artie Stocks and Sanford Stocks. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton LDS Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial in the Ioka Cemetery.
