Rachel Price Helms, 83, of Polkton, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. Rachel was born June 10, 1935 in Union County to the late Mack and Janie Price. She was also preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Perry; and brothers, Charlie, J.B. and Dan Price.

Rachel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rachel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and loved her church family at New Home Baptist.

Survivors include beloved husband of 67 years, Roy Helms of the home; daughter, Karen Lowe and husband, John, of Goldsboro; daughter, Sandra Threatt and husband, Billy, of Polkton; 4 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother, Travis Price. The funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at New Home Baptist Church, 1617 New Home Church Road, Peachland, officiated by Rev. George Senter.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, 10:00 am – 10:45 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Helms family.
