Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Ralph was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 2, 1948, the son of Kermit and Dorothy (Jensen) Pierce. He was married to the love of his life, Kathleen, for 23 years. Mr. Pierce was a teacher of history, social studies, and earth science for 40 years at Bath Community Schools.

He also coached junior varsity basketball and taught driver’s education. He loved all Michigan sports, and was an avid morel mushroom hunter, enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being out in nature. In past years he was a beekeeper and hunted pheasant with his beloved springer spaniel, Ashley.

He loved all his dogs and cats past and present. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; step-children, Steven Petty, Katie (Michael) Richey; sisters, Judy (Keith) Douglas, Sharon Monod, Kathy Burnett; sister-in-law, Laura Thebo; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
