Randy Mathison January 23, 1956 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Randy Mathison was the second of three children born to Lillie and Marv Mathison on January 23, 1956. He was born in Spencer, Iowa and grew up in Laurens, Iowa. He learned his lifetime hobbies of hunting, fishing, trapping, and trap shooting, and motorcycling from his dad at a very young age.

Randy was a dedicated worker with an engaged work ethic his entire life. He served in the US Army from 1974 to 1978. After the Army he worked building bridges in Kansas City and settled shortly thereafter in his loved Bella Vista, Arkansas.

He obtained his HVAC certification and spent the majority of his adult life installing and repairing HVAC systems. Many people in the Cooper Communities depended on Randy for their HVAC and other household repairs for many years. Randy was loved by many.

He had a big circle of friends and shared his talents and caring spirit his whole life. He loved his friends, 4 wheeling, camping, hunting, boating, playing poker, and family gatherings. Randy married Shelly and they had one child Melissa Mathison.

They lived in Bella Vista their entire marriage. He dearly loved being Melissa’s dad. They divorced and Randy continued living in Bella Vista.

Randy passed away in his home surrounded by family on March 2, 2019. Randy is survived by his daughter Melissa Mathison (Bella Vista), his mother Lillie (Bellevue, Ne) his brother Tom and wife Renee (Kansas City, MO) his sister Jolene and husband Johnny Roberts (Bellevue, NE), his nephew Jason Mathison (Warrenton, MO), his niece Jordan Roberts (Lincoln, NE) , his niece Abby Mathison (Warrenton, MO), many friends, cousins, aunts and uncles. Randy requested no funeral.
