Raquel C. Garcia, 87, Caldwell went home to be with the Lord on June 3rd 2018 of natural causes. She passed peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 31st 1931 to Josephina Hernandez and Nemecio Chacon and was the middle child of 5 siblings.

She lived in Texas, Wyoming, and Arizona and then finally made Idaho her home in 1970 where she worked in Agriculture till she retired in 1991. Her life was devoted to her family. After retirement she adopted 3 of her grandchildren and raised them as her own.

She also loved babysitting all her grandchildren and always made sure they had what they needed and always told us how important it was for them to learn to speak Spanish. She loved to cook and every time you went to her house she always made sure she had food on her stove for you. She loved to spend her time gardening and always had the most beautiful roses in her yard.

She also loved watching novelas and old cowboy western movies. She made many friends and was loved by all who knew her. If you were lucky enough to know her then you know you had a lifelong friend.

She is survived by her children Irene (George), Pete (Eva), Nellie, Martha, Margarita (Jesse), Angel, Josie, Martin (Ana), Juanita, Mike (Jessica), Crystal (Edgar), Cynthia, Jojo and by 185 grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Josephina Hernandez, her father Nemecio Chacon, her sister Abigail Munoz, her daughter Ramona Tijerina, her grandchildren Jessica Tijerina, Mary Ashcraft, Jackie Vela and her lifelong friend Pedro Villarreal. She was a fun, loving, caring and selfless mother and was known as Ama to everyone.

She forgave you before you even asked for forgiveness, (no guardaba un rencor). We want to thank all the staff at Meadow View Nursing and Lighthouse Hospice for their amazing care to her and our family during this difficult time. Her love was unconditional and she will be missed beyond words.

Viewing will be held today; Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 12-4:00 PM. , The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Raquel’s funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM.

Cremation will follow the services. All services will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be given at www.
