Ray Frost, 95, Hunter, ND died on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Ray was born Oct.

30, 1922 at Eagle Center, Iowa to Bernard and Elizabeth (Bahl) Frost. He was the 2nd oldest of 9 boys and 1 girl. At age 10, the family moved to the Hunter area where Ray attended the Bahl Country School.

Ray helped his dad with the farm while his brothers served in the military. He also was a threshing machine manager for area farmers. Ray married Lois Judisch on April 26, 1945 in Page, ND.

They made their home near Hunter and in 1960, they took over the family farm and moved to their current farmstead. Ray remained active in the farm with his son, Kevin until recent years. Over the years, he raised livestock along with the grain farm.

Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Agnes Catholic Church where he served as trustee for several years. He enjoyed gardening and cherished time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his younger years, he was an avid baseball player with the FM Baseball Team and Sunday Hunter Team.

With 9 boys, the family often made up their own team. He is survived by his wife, Lois of 73 years; daughter, Connie (Dave) Frost-LaVaute of Missoula, MT; son, Kevin (Meredith) of Hunter; granddaughters, Bethany (Allen) Peschel, Kelsey LaVaute, Kayla (Justin) Hovland, Kristina Weber and Karlotta (Josh) Dixon; step grandchildren, Bryan and Hayley Coia; great grandchildren, John, Chase and Ashlyn Weber and Bridget and Charlotte Dixon; brothers, Donald (Joanne) of Addison, IL and Robert (Esther) of East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Jackie Punton of Fargo; and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by a son, John (1968); and siblings, Laverne, Leroy, Marvin, Mick, Ken and Bill.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the RRV or the donors charity of choice. Funeral Mass: Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hunter with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Hunter Cemetery.
