Ray Thompson, Jr. March 13, 1926 – March 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ray Thompson, Jr., 93, of Nashport, Ohio died Friday morning, March 22, 2019 at his home. Born March 13, 1926 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late Roy G. and Sylvia (Adams) Thompson. Mr. Thompson proudly served our country in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II.

He was a retired truck driver having worked for over 30 years with B. & L. Motor Freight and later Hanby Farms. Ray was a member of the Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church. Surviving is his loving wife of over 72 years, Anna Mae (Kendall) Thompson whom he married October 19, 1946; a daughter, Deborah Weber of Zanesville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Rebecca Thompson who died August 14, 2012 and Barbara “Babs” Hankinson who died March 19, 2013; a brother, Don Thompson and a sister, Joy Dewees. Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Monday, March 25, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, March 25, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Daft and Pastor Dan Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Irville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
