Raymond Arthur Maheu, 89, of Colchester and formerly of Willimantic, beloved husband of Rosemary (Zanlungo) Maheu, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning (June 20, 2018). Born Nov. 9, 1928 in Willimantic, he was the son of the late Henry and Alice (Duchesneau) Maheu.

Mr. Maheu proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Willimantic. He had worked as a stock clerk for Northeast Utilities for many years before his retirement. He leaves Rosemary, his loving wife of 40 years, he leaves a daughter, Grace Bianci of Burlington; a stepson, John Moriconi (and wife, Julia) of Worcester, MA; three siblings, Marcella Burton and Leo and Wayne Maheu; and numerous extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two children, Vanessa and Gary Maheu. Services and burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 (www.

heart.org). Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
