Rellergert, 88, of Perryville, Missouri died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Independence Care Center of Perry County. He was born on May 16, 1930 in Apple Creek, Missouri to Hugo and Pauline Ponder Rellergert. Ray and Geraldine M. “Gerry” Niswonger Rellergert were married November 24, 1956.

She preceded him in death on September 7, 2015. Ray was a retired Rural Mail Carrier. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Cardinal fan, and bowler.

Ray was a Little League Baseball Coach and Girls Softball Coach. During his retirement he loved to do woodworking and to spend time with his family. Ray was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, 4th Degree Assembly 581, American Legion Post 133, Sportsman Club, and AmVets Post 94.

He was a US Air Force Korean veteran. Survivors include his three daughters, Theresa (Kevin) Petzoldt of Perryville, Missouri, Julie (Mark) Wengert of Perryville, Missouri, Patty (Mitch) Peiffer of Salisbury, Missouri; two sons, Michael (Chris) Rellergert of Perryville, Missouri, David (Belinda) Rellergert of Perryville, Missouri; two sisters, Jeanette Tiehes of Perryville, Missouri, Rose Marie Buerck of St. Louis, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Aaron (Christina) Rellergert, Daniel (Annie) Rellergert, Chad Petzoldt, Kailyn Petzoldt, Jonathan Petzoldt, Gregory Rellergert, Jordan Rellergert, Kristin (Corey) Sauer, Amanda Wengert, Jacob Peiffer, Anna Peiffer, Kate Peiffer, Abbie Peiffer; four great-grandchildren, Siena Rellergert, Sloane Rellergert, Reagan Rellergert, and Ellie Sauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister, Veronica “Roni” Durkee.

Friends may call at Ford & Young Funeral Home on Friday, May 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with parish wake and K of C Wake at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 11 from 6:30 to 10:00 am with Rosary recited at 8:30 am. He will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Rev.

Rich Wehrmeyer CM officiating. Entombment in Mary Queen of All Saints Mausoleum in Mt. Hope Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post 133 and the US Air Force Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent’s Tuition Assistance Program or Crown Hospice. Ford & Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
