Raymond W. “Robin” Moehlman passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born in Kansas City on August 30, 1949. He grew up in Grandview, MO and graduated from Grandview High School.

He later received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UMKC in 1980 and his Master’s degree in Finance in 1983, also from UMKC. Other professional achievements include receiving his CCIM (Certified Commercial-Investment Member) and CCRA (Certified Commercial Real Estate Appraiser) in 1991. Raymond held many jobs during his professional career and was considered a jack of all trades.

His proudest tenure was working for The Kansas City Southern Railway Company for forty-two years, where he retired as the Director of Corporate Real Estate. Raymond lived within the KC metro area his whole life and had a profound love for all things for which the city was known; most notably sports. He was an avid soccer player in his younger days and had a major impact in promoting the sport within the community.

He was a season ticket holder for the Sporting Kansas City soccer team since their inception, then known as the “KC Wizards”. He also held season tickets for the KC Chiefs and KC Royals and was an avid KU basketball fan. After he retired in 2014, he devoted his time to volunteering for the Kauffman Foundation.

Raymond left his mark on many people’s lives and he was loved by all with whom he came into contact. He embodied the spirit of hard work and dedication to anything he did, and the words “give up” were not part of his vocabulary. He was loving, caring, thoughtful and would do anything for those that he cared about.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jay and his mother, Mildred “Mimi”. He was survived by his wife, Brenda; his son, Alex; his daughter, Lauren (Andrew); his grandchildren, Ella, Ava and Jackson; his brother, Mike (JoAnn); his sister, Bunny (Jim), and countless nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him very much. A visitation will be held from 1-3 PM, with graveside service at 3 PM, on Tuesday, March 26, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
