Raymond T. Denten, age 90 of Glenview, IL. Beloved husband of Marilyn Gibbons,nee Tangney and the late Nancy, nee Gibbons. Devoted son of the late Francis and Margaret, nee DeBuck.

Loving father of Raymond Thomas, Jr. (late Patricia), Robert (Kate), Martin (Margaret), Mary (Brad) Wolski, Eileen (John) Newman, Julie (Patrick) Kelly, Edward (Katharine) and the late Brian. Stepfather of David (Cathie) Gibbons Jr., Kathleen Gibbons, Sheila (Ben) Applegate, and Maureen (Daniel) Chopp. Proud grandfather of Raymond Thomas, III (Lisa), Sarah (Paul) Gaszak, Jamie, Brian, Kelly, Molly, Liam, Nicholas Wolski, Raymond Wolski, Matthew Newman, Laura (Mitch Miller) Newman, Kevin Newman, Jack Kelly, Kate Kelly, Maeve Kelly, Alexis Kelly, Jack, Luke, and Peter.

Great grandfather of Owen Gaszak. Step grandfather of Alison (Nick) Beaulieu, Michael (Dayna) Gibbons, David (Aida), Ben, Jr (Jen), Ryan, Colin Applegate, and Danielle and John Chopp and the late Andrew Applegate. Step great grandfather of Owen Beaulieu.

Beloved brother of William (Alice) and the late Francis, Jr (the late Irene), Eleanor (Ed) Hirons, Dorothy (Ed) Garvey, Arthur (the late Gloria) and Edward (Catherine and the late Rita). Brother-in-law of William (the late Tomi) Tangney. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Ray was a graduate of Loyola Academy, Loyola University, and Loyola University School of Law. Ray and Nancy lived in Chicago, Park Ridge, and Wilmette for 41 years while raising their family and resided in Glenview and Savannah, Georgia where Ray retired until Nancy’s death. Ray and Marilyn were married for 14 years and resided in Glenview and Savannah,Georgia.

Ray also served on the boards of St Mary of Winona University and St Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, and supported the soup kitchen at St Thomas of Canterbury as a volunteer. Ray was also a very dedicated, life-long Chicago Cubs fan. Visitation Tuesday, May 14, 3-8 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge.

Funeral Wednesday, 12:15 p.m. prayers from funeral home, to Mary Seat of Wisdom Church, 920 Granville Ave. , Park Ridge. Mass 1 p.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Leukemia Research Foundation, Andrew Applegate Foundation, or bring a kid to a baseball game.
